Why American Live in The Tent

I watched The Oprah Show on TV somewhere last month, but there was coverage about something that coming back to my mine. It was about how the economic crises affecting on our lives. Everyday we read about people losing their job in every corner in this world. Nevertheless, the most heartbreaking news was from the Oprah Show, that many unemployment Californians are voluntary to live in tents.
This was reported from journalist Lisa Ling from her home town of Sacramento, is among thee hardest hit areas, with an estimated 1,200 people living in the tent cities, but officials say these communities are popping up all over the country and wont be going away soon. She then interviewed one of them who been living there for six months with her husband after both lost their job.
It was devastating to see them lose their personal memento the moment they walked away from their foreclosed homes. They have deadline to vacate, than the “cleaning crew” arrived emptying the house. I saw good furniture, dinner sets, kitchen equipment, pictures wall, etc, which are impossible to take with them to their new palace. The question is why people are not spending carefully, I mean why would you must over spend especially when you know you don’t have saving and cannot afford own home. They are now one of the example of being wastefulness and reckless spending people facing the consequences. We should take responsibility for ourselves then. Huh, it is scary thing if u can’t save and not everybody has those skills, enough for me to remind myself in spending wisely, not to indulgence on unnecessary things.
